What is the difference between M15-3 and a cable float?

The M15-3 has a fixed-shape float with internal reed switch and is suspended by a single cable, while a cable float uses a tilting ball-switch inside the float. M15-3 has a higher 16(4)A contact rating suitable for larger pumps.

Can it switch larger pumps?

Yes – the 16A contact can directly switch single-phase pumps up to about 1.5kW at 250V without needing a contactor.

Is it for filling or emptying?

Both. The 3-wire SPDT output lets you wire either NO (filling) or NC (emptying) by selecting the appropriate conductors.

What fluids can it be used with?

Clean water, sewage with suspended solids, oil, and dilute acids / alkalis. The PP body is non-toxic and chemical resistant.

What is the mechanical life?

≥ 100,000 switching cycles on the mechanical side and ≥ 50,000 on the electrical side, tested to VDE 0630.

What is the protection rating?

IP68, suitable for continuous submersion to 10 m water depth.
