Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an ACB and an MCCB?

An air circuit breaker uses air as the arc-extinguishing medium and is built as a draw-out unit for main incomer duty, typically 630A and above. An MCCB is a compact molded-case device, normally 16A to 1600A, used for feeder and branch protection. In most panels the ACB sits at the incomer while MCCBs distribute downstream.

Which ratings does the COW1 series cover?

Four 3-pole draw-out frames: COW1-630/3 (630A), COW1-1000/3 (1000A), COW1-1600/3 (1600A) and COW1-2500/3 (2500A). Rated ultimate breaking capacity is 80kA for the 630A, 1000A and 2500A frames and 120kA for the 1600A frame.

Can you supply 4-pole or fixed-type versions?

Yes. 4-pole and fixed-type versions are available on request, together with panel-mounting chassis and mechanical interlocking for changeover duty.

What accessories and releases can be fitted?

Shunt, closing and delayed undervoltage releases plus motor-operated mechanisms at AC 230V, along with auxiliary contacts, alarm contacts, mechanical interlocks and intelligent electronic trip units.

What documentation ships with the breakers?

IEC 60947-2 type-test reports and CE / RoHS documentation accompany every shipment. SONCAP, PVOC, SABER and other market-specific certificates can be arranged on request.

What is the MOQ and lead time?

Standard ratings ship in 7-15 days after order confirmation and deposit. MOQ depends on the model and accessory combination – send your list and we will confirm both.
